Based on the above finding, it is reasonable to conclude that most of the households in the fishing communities in the Island of Panay are still "poor" socially or economically. Similarly, the fishermen are still wanting in capital and better technology in fishing. Even with available credit sources, they do not avail of them maybe because of inadequate information or lack of awareness of their existence or importance
