Damage assessment of potato late blight

Field losses on potato due to late blight Phytophthora infestations (Mont. de Bary) were assessed in Baguio Experiment Station and Paoay, Atok, Benguet using two seedboard approved varieties namely, Cosima and Red Pontiac. The crops were inoculated with fungus at four differrent stages, namely 30, 45, 60 and 75 days after planting. Early infection resulted in tuber yield losses of 50.77% while yield losses with late infection ranged from 0.8 - 3.4%, depending on variety, location and weather conditions
