The crossbreds obtained from mating Jersey and Danish Red cattle were characterized by a high content of fat and protein in milk, a high milk productivity and good milking ability. However, there were negative results of crossing Danish Red with Jersey breeds: a slight prolongation of the service period and age at first mating. The Jersey x Belgian Red crossbreds had a statistically lower content of fat and protein in milk than the Jersey x Danish Red crossbreds. The favourable influence of the Belgian Red breed was related to the traits connected with fertility and live weight
