Chickens received 16 and 10 ppm of Zn-bacitracin or 4 and 2.5 ppm of flavomycin in the starting and finishing rations, respectively. Excluding animal protein from feed ration did not affect adversely the fattening performance of broiler chickens. Increasing energy value improved significantly body weight. Dietary antibiotics caused increase of the final body weight of broiler chickens by 2%. No difference was revealed due to the type of antibiotics, although Zn-bacitracin appeared more effective with high-energy rations. Carcass traits depended mainly on dietary energy and protein contents. Dietary supply of antibiotics caused a decrease of abdominal fat content in carcass from 4.1 to 3.4%
