It was found in the experiment that the cultivars (Narew and Uran) similarly reacted to various humidity levels (70 and 45%) of the medium. Decreased water content of the medium decreased number of leaves at the beginning of plant growth, inhibited plant growth, decreased fresh matter of stems and resulted in a decrease of the number and weight of tubers. Low humidity - 45% independently of the date of inoculation increased PVM infection in leaves of cv. Narew by 16.3% and of Uran by 19.0% and increased the rate of virus multiplication as compared to 70% humidity
