Investigations of aggregate structure of soils developed from flyschrocks of the Beskid Zywiecki and Beskid Niski mountains [Poland]. 2. Water stability and some physicochemical properties of soil aggregates
1986
Maciaszek, W. (Akademia Rolnicza, Krakow (Poland))
Water stability of investigated flysch soils was found to be dependent on the degree of humification of soil organic matter. Water stability of the aggregates, decreasing with aggregate size increase, is directly proportional to humus and clay content, and inversely proportional to skeletal particles content. Forest soil aggregates show a better capability to receive, retain, and allow infiltration of precipitation water than do grasslands and arable soils
