Preliminary investigation on the effect of enzyme and antibiotic supplements on the feeding value of rye containing diets in broiler feeding [kitasamycine, Pectofoetidin P-10]

Chickens were fed for 1-28 and 29-56 days on a basal corn - soybean meal diet containing 0/0, 2,5/5 or 7,5/15% of rye grain. Diets with rye were supplemented or not with pectic enzyme - Pectofoetidin P - 10 (0.01%) or both enzyme and antibiotic kitasamycine - Trubin (15 ppm). Diets with 2.5/5% of rye had no influence but with 5/10 or 7,5/15% of rye depressed weight gains and feed conversion in chicks. Supplementation of these diets with enzyme and especially enzyme plus antibiotic improved the performance of chickens fed on rye
