The agroecological conditions of growing the winter wheat and corn in Vojvodina [Yugoslavia]
1985
Jevtic, S. | Labat, A.
In agrarian and ecological regions of Voivodina (Yugoslavia), soil and other edaphic conditions for wheat and corn raising are mostly favourable. Biotic factors (macroorganisms, microorganisms and weed) have been in tolerant biological equilibrium up till now. The quantities of rain are unstable for wheat, and, during most years, negative from the beginning of sowing till maturation. The quantity of rain during winter is insufficient for considerable moisture preservation for spring vegetation, especially for the time from shooting to maturation. During spring and summer wheat vegetation (March-June) the quantity and timing of rain are very variable from the beginning of spring vegetation to spike formation.
