A trial to assess the efficacy of a nitrophenyl guanidine compound (Netobimin Schering Co.) against different species of gastro-intestinal nematodes and D. filaria was carried on naturally infected sheep. At a dose-rate of 7.5 mg/k.b.w., administered orally as a drench, the drug was highly effective, with an efficacy index of 100 per cent against H. contortus, O. trifurcata, O. ostertagi, M. marshalli, T. axei, T. colubriformis, T. capricola, N. filicollis, N. spathiger, C. ovina, D. filaria, and immature stages (L4) of Ostertagia sp., and 99.9 and 99.7 per cent, respectively, against O. circuncincta and T. vitrinus. No side effects were observed in treated sheep
