Path analysis in bread-wheat

Correlation and path analysis in 30 genotypes of bread-wheat (Triticum aestivum Linn. emend. Fiori and Paol.) indicated that spikes/plant, grains/spike, 100-grain weight, glume weight/plant, biological yield and harvest index were related to yield through direct effects. Glag-leaf area indirectly correlated with yield via biological yield and glume weight/plant. The physiological yield components simultaneously contributed more to the yield than the primary yield components
