Present investigation was aimed to determine the effect of the heavy metals (Cd, Pb, and Zn) individually and combination on the process of leaf litter decomposition of two types (Orange and Eucalyptus) and the population of bacteria and fungi. The results indicate that already there exists the problem of soil contamination with these heavy metals and in future soil contamination is expected to rise on account of increased activities
