Field corn (Zea mays L.) has been detected as an excellent forage crop and growth on the uplands for silage in Korea. Most farmers have grown the corn under the higher fertilizer application and denser planting density conditions, so that lodging with disease and insect damage has been a problem inducing low quality forage yield. Thus the study was to determine optimum planting density by silage corn growing regions using two hybrid cultivars and five planting densities of 44,000, 55,000, 66,000, 77,000 and 88,000 plants per hectare with two planting dates of optimum and economically critical late planting time
