Feeding value of synthetic amino acid on swine, 2; effects of synthetic lysine addition by different protein levels in diets of growing pigs

To decide the effects of synthetic lysine addition by different protein levels in corn-soybean meal diets of growing pigs, 96 head of 3 way crossbred were assigned by four levels of lysine (.6, .7, .8 and .9 %) and three levels of protein (12, 14 and 16 %). When the protein levels were 16, 14 and 12 %, dietary lysine levels fortified with synthetic lysine addition for maximum gain and feed efficiency were .8, .7 and .6 %, respectively, or 5.0g of lysine per 100g of crude protein. A 14 % crude protein diet fortified with L-Lysine to contain .7 % allowed performance similar to that obtained with a 16 % crude protein diets (.8 % lysine)
