Weed management research in legume; Study 2: legumes-weed competition experiments
1985
Pamplona, P.O.
For mungbeans, increasing plant population from 200,000 to 400,000/ha could considerably reduce weed populations (Boerhavia erecta) 20 days after sowing. Using different weeding schemes, pre-emergence treatment of pendimethalin at 1.25 kg/ha plus hilling-up at 20 days after sowing followed by 2 handweedings along the rows effected considerable reduction in the population of Rottboellia exaltata and B. erecta together with some broad leaves. Some operations, as in mungbeans, could be profitable for peanuts and soybeans except that only one handweeding is needed
