The noxious gases present in the atmosphere were strongly toxic towards plants, especially conifers, whereas industrial dust, containing heavy metals, exerted its influence in dependence on: type of element, its concentration, solubility and oxidation rate; physico-chemical properties of soil, its sorption capacity, pH, caronate content, etc.; ability of microorganisms to adaptation under changed environmental conditions. All these elements determine the stability and homeostasis of the system
