Alterations in dendrophilous fauna of forest insects in Poland after 1945

Changes in distribution of noxious insects known for years as dangerous pests of forest trees and changes in quantitative dynamics of common species populations were described. Alteration of host plants of noxious phytophagous forest insects was discussed. Attention was paid to the disturbances of regulation processes in populations of species occurring previously not numerously in the introduction of insects strange for fauna of Poland and the adaptation of local phytophagous insects to introduced tree species. The role of the development of entomological research in detection of new forest pests was pointed out
