Content of sulphur in fir needles as indicator of its health condition

It was stated in the result of infestigations carried out that the content of sulphur in one-year-old needles of fir collected at the end of vegetation period amounting to 0.140% and more indicates a serious impairement of fir trees. The content of sulphur ranging between 0.110 and 0.130% occurs more frequently in strong fir trees much less weakened. It was found that the differentiation of sulphur content in 2-year-old needles was minimal and that those values were not being fit for comparisons
