High content of vitamin C was found in serum, uterus, placenta and aminiotic and allantoic fluids during the first period of gestation. Synthesis of the vitamin begins in about 36-day-old foetuses. Just before the farrowing a high concentration of vitamin C in foetuses and low content in sows were observed
