Possibilities of increase of the production of grain in Poland

In feeding pigs which are main consumers of grain also potatoes should be taken into consideration under the climate and soil conditions of Poland. Much more liveweight can be produced under conditions of Poland from 1 hectare of potatoes than from 1 hectare of cereals but it is less profitable at present relations and costs. For the solution of the grain problem in this country one should concentrate also on potato cultivation improvement and lowering of its production costs so that they could be competitive in relation to grain first of all in feeding pigs
