Possibilities for the rapid determination of zein in maize grains

On the basis of the performed investigations, at the Agricultural Research Station in Suceava, for the rapid determination of zein content in corn grains, the present paper reports the use of two other variants of the biuret method. The obtained results by the proper adaptation of the already known methods for zein determination within alcoholic extracts having a relatively poor content in this proteic fraction, proved to be similar with those recorded by the classical method but showed however a higher productivity.
