An evaluation of 5 commercial dairy herds in St. Croix revealed problems of nutritional deficiency in terms of energy and phosphorus intake; infertility and leptospirosis infection. A herd health program recommended is briefly outlined which deals with reproduction, immunization, nutrition, parasite control and mastitis control. Between 1981 and 1983 milk production increased by 413,000 lbs. A summary of production values for 1981 to 1983 is given including total cows, calving interval, and gross income per cow per year
