Regardless of carotene presence in diet, its level in blood serum depends on the weaning stage. Amount of Beta-carotene in blood serum declines from the moment of weaning and reaches its minimum at parturition. Carotene content in blood increases after parturition. Increased amount of Vitamin A in diet did not considerably affect the rise of Beta-carotene in blood. Vitamin A content in blood serum of weaned cows shows greater stability than the carotene content. Amount of carotene increased in all tested groups 2 weeks before parturition. Increased carotene content in cows diet caused higher Vitamin A content in colostrum in first postnatal hours. Depending on parturition time amount of Vitamin A in milk decreased by 11.86 times after 10 days.
