Drying and drying way do not influence the nicotine content in tobacco,the protein content increase and the changes in soluble sugars. Drying and drying way influence the nitrogen content, proteinaceous nitrogen increase, aromatic substances content (ethers, resins), the condensate content in the cigarette, cigarette flavour properties and the cigarette strength. Drying way does not influence pH values. Drying way brings about the nicotine decrease in the condensate and the change of the nicotine content in cigarette filters.
