The present paper reports the results on the extent of contribution of the exotics, viz. Suffolk and Dorset, and the natives, viz. Mandya and Nellore, to the body weight and carcass traits under the intensive feeding conditions. From the results it could be concluded that either Suffolk or Dorset and either of the native breeds, viz. Nellore and Mandya, could be utilized for creating a crossbred base for developing a new breed of sheep
