The experiment was conducted to obtain estimates of heritability, correlation, path coefficient and selection index in crosses among Korean local and Oriental tobacco varieties. Eight parents (four Korean local and four Oriental tobacco varieties), 56 F1 hybrids, and 56 F2 populations from full diallel crosses among them were evaluated. Estimated hertitabilities in the narrow sence in both F1 hybrids and F2 populations were ranged from 87.42 % to 96.22 % for leaf numb1281er, days to flowering and nicotine content, while those of yield, stem height, leaf length and width, and reducing sugar content were ranged from 32.55 % to 60.
