Cloning gene(s) for competitive nodulation blocking on Afghanistan peas from Rhizobium leguminosarum
1988
Dowling, D.N. (Geneva Univ. (Switzerland)) | Samrey, U. | Broughton, W.J.
The primitive pea cultivar Afghanistan can be nodulated by the Rhizobium leguminosarum strain TOM but fails to nodulate with strain PF2. The gene(s) involved in competitive nodulation blocking were identified on the Sym plasmid of PF2. They were successfully isolated and cloned into cosmid vectors
