Effect of vitamins and trace elements on the growth and sclerotia formation of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum
1987
Bakr, M.A. | Grewal, J.S.
Addition of pyridoxine hydrochloride and ascorbic acid at 0.5 ppm and thiamine hydrochloride at 1.0 ppm to a vitamin free liquid synthetic medium significantly increased growth and sclerotia formation of the three isolates of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib) de Bary. Calcium pantothenate at 0.5 ppm increased the sclerotia formation in isolate D-6. Zinc and iron at 0.1 and 0.25 ppm respectively stimulated growth and sclerotia formation of S. sclerotiorum. Chromium and copper at 0.1 ppm each significantly improved growth and sclerotia formation in isolate D-6.
