Soybean varietal trial at Ebini [Guyana]
1970
Chetram, R.S. (Ministry of Nat'l Dev. and Agric. (Guyana). Res. Div.)
10 varieties of soybeans were tested on the soil type, Kasarama 810, for adaptability and yield potentials. Muriate of potash (140 lbs/acre) and triple superphosphate (336 lbs/acre) were applied at planting. Heights of plants and height of first pod from ground level were measured, and lodging scored at maturity. The highest yield of 1,757 lbs/acre was obtained with variety 240664. All plants were erect but growth was restricted and the number of pods on each variety was greatly reduced. It is suggested that the fertilizer rate used was too low
