Effect of Vapor gard and ethrel on quality of date fruits of Chipchap CV

The date fruits CV. Chipchap suffers from skin scaling which limits its use as ripened fruit. Several treatment including Vapor gard (4%), Ethrel (2000 ppm) and a combination of both were attempted. In the second season, bagging was included with treatment along with distilled water were made in both years. The result obtained indicate clearly that V.G. and its combination with ethrel reduce remarkably fruit scaling and improved fruits quality through increasing water content and decreasing total soluble solids
