100 varieties and lines were tested in randomized complete block design with two replications experiments. Each entry was represented with a line of 2.5 m and 0.3 m apart. The experiments were carried out in two successive seasons, 1983 and 84. Rainfall was 83.3 and 79.1 mm for each of the seasons, respectively. The amount of rain was not enough to support any significant wheat growth. Four spring wheat varieties, ACSAD 59, 65, 67 and Yecoro Rojo, were tested using four seed rates: 75, 100, 120, and 150 kg/ha in a split plot design with four replications for the seasons 1984 and 1985. Plants were irrigated with brackish water with TDS 6500 ppm. The four varieties behaved similarly in the two seasons. A59 and A67 gave on the average of two seasons grain yield of 3.57 and 3.51 T/ha compared with A65 and YR with average of 2.72 and 2.71 T/ha, respectively. A similar trend was also observed in air-dry hay number of heads/plant and 100 seed weight. Variation in seed rates had practically no effect on the final yield of the plants of all four varieties
