Corm of newly harvested bananas of the cooking variety (Saba/Candaba) and table banana (Latundan) was evaluated as feed ingredient in poultry ration. It was incorporated at 60% level in poultry diet and fed to 30 fattening turkey poults. The ratio of these two banana varieties was 50-50. The corm was grated in a coconut grating machine and mixed with 2% fresh grated coconut, 6% molasses, 20% rice bran, 1% ramie rejects, 8% tallow, 2% snail meal and 1% salt. The poults were divided into 2 groups with equal number of males and females. Turkeys in Group 1 and 2 were raised in complete confinement and range system, respectively. Ad libitum feeding was employed in both treatments. Weight gain and feed consumption during the 60-day feeding period were evaluated. The chemical analysis of ingredients used were determined. Confined turkeys attained significantly higher weight (5.1 kg) than those raised on the ranged (3.8 kg).
