Influence of BA and other cytokinins on proliferation and metabolic status of sour cherry cultures cultivated in vitro

The rosettes from multiplicated cultures of sour cherry cultivars Schattenmorelle and North Star were cultivated on MS medium, supplemented with benzylaminopurine, zeatin, kinetin, 2iP or their ribosides. Formation of new shoots appeared only on medium with BA or to a lesser degree with BA-riboside. The most efficient concentration of BA for new shoot formation was 2 mg/l for Schattemmorelle and 1.5 mg/l for North Star. Water content in the cultured tissue increased with increasing BA or BA-riboside concentrations
