The application of NPK fertilizers (50 and 100 kg of NPK/ha) were repeated every 4 years. After an initial drop in shoot density by 80 percent Vaccinium myrtillus began to recover in the 3rd year following fertilizer application. It seems that possible fertilizer application should not be repeated more frequently than every eight years. Fertilizer application had an unfavourable effect on Moetringia trinervia, Luzula pilosa, and mosses. The response to NPK fertilizers of Molinia orundinacea, the remaining grasses and Trientalis europaea were positive. Galeopsis bifida and Carex brizoides were indifferent to fertilizers. All species responded to the thinning of crown and climatic conditions
