Screening of cultivars of lentil for resistance to rust [Lens culinaris]

During a preliminary screening of 138 cultivars of lentil at two locations under field conditions, LG nos. 13, 41, 103, 108, 112, 120, Pant L 406, Pant L639, LL nos. 19, 30, 56, 72, and 78 were resistant to rust at both locations. LL nos. 48, 56, 71, 82, 83, 103 and 178, Lg 41, L 2895, and HPL-5 exibited the same resistant reaction during the second year of testing. LL 48, LL 82, LL 133, LL 178, L 2895, and HPL-5 were resistant under artificial epiphytotic conditions
