Major success in the control of Mahanarva postica by the application of Metarrhizium anisophliae in north-eastern Brazil has led to interest in other countries and further trials with this fungus are recommended. Investigations with the nematode Neoplectana carpocapsae, parasitic on Aeneolamia varia in Trinidad, and the discovery of a rhabditid nematode attacking a spittle bug of pasture grasses in Colombia is promising. Studies for natural enemies in the neotropics, Africa and Bangladesh are included
