This paper presents the results of the investigation into freshwater recent shellfish from 1955 to 1982 in some Yugoslav rivers, streams, lakes, channels, pools and water areas by the banks. This paper also states the names of the shellfish and waters, biometrical data, data about their reproduction and nutrition. Historical development of the investigation from 1882 - 1982 has been mentioned as well.
