Productivity of monogerm triploid sugarbeet hybrids of the same genetic constitution using different sources of male sterility

Investigation carried out with 2 monogerm populations of sugar beet proved the following sources of male sterility (cytoplasmatic-nuclear and nuclear) had no statistically significant effect upon the root yield, sugar content and yield of polarized sugar and therefore it could be concluded that sources of male sterility did not influence the genetic constitution of the investigated quantitative characteristics; various sources of male sterility had no effect upon combinative abilities of the investigated genotypes; nuclear male sterility could be used in the recurrent selection of autofertile genotypes; the effect of year upon the root yield, sugar content and yield of polarized sugar was statistically justified.
