Shah, M.A.R. | Islam, M.N. | Aziz, M.A.
An experiment was conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ishurdi during the period from May to August, 1988 to find out optimum plant spacing and number of plants per hill of maize. There were three levels of plant spacing (75 x 25 cm. 75 x 50 cm, 75 x 75 cm) and three levels of number of plants/hill (91, 2, 3). Plant spacing and number of plants per hill had significant effects on plant characters and grain yield. The highest yield (3744 kg/ha) was obtained from 75 x 25 cm. plant spacing with 3 plants/hill.
