A die-back disease of rubber (Hevea brasillensis Muell. Arg) in the plantations of Rupaichara Rubber Estate was recorded in 1987. The symptoms of the disease are described. Phomopsis hevea (Petch) Boedljn, has been isolated most dominantly from the diseased samples. A survey was carried out in June. 1988 to find out the extent and severity of the die-back disease. It is found that 42% of the trees have developed varying degrees of die-back.
