This study on broiler production aims at diagnosing and understanding the functioning of its production channel and proposing measures to improve its efficiency. It was proved that production cost per broiler and the size of production vary inversely. Thus it was shown that through economies of scale the cost of production can be lowered considerably. It was also noticed that whilst the small-scale producers aim at very high profit margins per unit the large-scale producers are more interested in a high volume of trade which provides them with a consistent revenue. The lowering of consumer prices by way of economies of scale will increase the consumption of broilers in Cameroon since this is the only obstacle to its high consumption
