An analysis of vegetable crops marketing : The case of Irish potatoes and cabbages produced in Bafou (Menoua) [Cameroon]
1989
Matchioh, M.
The study aims at analysing the marketing of cabbages and Irish potatoes in Bafou (Menoua). The author observed the use of excessive quantity inputs, greater physical losses incurred by big vegetable farmers and women compared to specialised gardeners, low profit margins, etc. It is suggested here that production costs should be reduced in order to sell more competitive produce. This can only be achieved if extension services to peasants are assured and if they can easily have access to improved seeds
