Remarks on the marine vegetation of the new Suez-Canal [Egypt]
1985
Fraghaly, M.S. (Suez-Canal Univ., Ismaileyah (Egypt))
One year of observations on the Suez Canal Flora carried out in the laboratory of Marine Botany of the Suez Canal University. The preliminary results revealed the presence of some new and little known records of algae among a total of 105 species of marine plants collected from the Canal. The new recorded species contribute to the knowledge about the role of the Suez Canal in the migration of plants between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Some other projects and prospectives are discussed concerning the Suez Canal Flora.
