Effect of saline irrigation on chemical constituents of one-year-old rooted vines. 2.- Ca [Calcium], Na [Sodium], and clorine content [Egypt]

This part of study was carried out in 1979 and 1980 in order to determine the effect different salinity levels on Ca, Na, and clorine content of one-year-old rooted grape vines cvs. Banati (Thompson Seedless) and Roumi Red. All salinity levels used caused clear increments in percentage of Na in roots, stem, and leaves as well as the level C1 in leaves of both tested cultivars. The actual amounts of Na (mg/vine) in roots, stem and leaves (after 180 days of saline irrigation) at all tested levels, as well as C1 in leaves of both cultivar, increased or slightly decreased regardless of the reduction in dry matter content.
