1987
Aly, F.R. (Alexandria Univ. (Egypt). Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) | Elsawy, A.H.
Clanobutin sodium (Bykahepar) (R) a choleretic and digestant agent was administered i.m. to male guinea pigs daily, for 3 successive days per week for 4 weeks. Histopathological changes were analyzed. Congestion and degenerative changes of the parenchymatous organs occurred with highly distended gall bladder. Acute oral toxicity of Clanobutin sodium (LD50) was estimated to be 407 mg/kg body weight in mice. It is recommended that Clanobutin sodium is not a safe choleretic for repeated administration.
