Effect of lime on some soil chemical characteristics and plant nutrient uptake on a forest acid soil
1980
Ofusu, G.K.
The effect of lime on some soil chemical characteristics and plant nutrient uptake in the Asuansi Soil Series of Ghana is reported. A completely randomized design of six treatments and five replicates each with maize was used. Decrease in soil acidity, improvement in phosphorus availability, enhanced cation exchange capacity and organic matter content and decrease in potassium availability were observed with lime applied together with NPK fertilizer. Uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium by maize (corn) increased with lime-fertilizer applications
