Based on the methods used in the countries of European Common Market the authors have elaborated a methodical recommendation for determination of the apparent metabolizable energy of feeds and digestibility coefficients of nutrients in poultry. For determination of the apparent metabolizable energy (AMEn) of poultry feeds corrected for 0 N-retention the authors suggest to use minimally 4 cocks, a 5-day experimental period, ad libitum feeding, full collection of faeces and the method of joint utilization. For separation of the urinary and faecal N a chemical method is suggested. On basis of the examinations recommandation is being elaborated for calculation of ME content of feeds by standardized mathematical model.
