Study of the correlation between low or high progesterone level of milk samples collected at the time of insemination and fertility in cattle stocks

Correlation of the progesterone content of bulk fore milk, collected on the day of insemination, during the afternoon milking, and the conceptional results were studied on large-scale farms in 652 and in back-yard farms in 27 inseminations. Although better conceptional results were obtained when the progesterone levels were lower, a part of cows also conceived that showed high progesterone levels at the time of inseminations which was considered as a limit value, indicating a luteal activity.
