Effect of a PGF2alfa preparation (Enzaprost F, Chinoin) on the conceptional results and on the sex ration of progenies was studied in a large-scale angora farm in artificially inseminated angoras. The ovulation was induced by GnRH (Ovurelin, Reanal) 4 hours before and at the time of insemination. The best conceptional rate (67.5 per cent) was obtained when GnRH treatment preceded the insemination by 4 hours and the PGF2alfa was administered im. at the time of insemination. After the im. application of PGF2alfa, the sex rate of progenies shifted to the favour of males (56:44, as well as 58:42) Higher numbers of female progenies were born when GnRH was administered at the time of insemination. The results are explained by the enhancing effect of PGF2alfa on the uterinal contraction and so on the transport of sperm cells on the one hand, and by the establishment of the temporal optimum of ovulation and conception, on the other hand.
