Influence of the rates of phosphorus fertilizer, irrigation water and straw mulching on yield and quality of yard long bean seeds

Different rates of phosphorus fertilizer had no effect on both of yield and quality of yard long bean var. KU. 7 seeds, but phosphorus concentration in seeds and pod-length were higher when increasing phosphorus application. Rates of phosphorus fertilizer also had no effect on phosphorus movement within theo-100cm. soil profile. Irrigation rate higher than 80 cm/rai/crop resulted in increasing the hard seed percentage. The irrigation rates also had no effect on phosphorus movement within soil profile ato-100 cm. depth. The reverse was seen on soil moisture content, since increasing rates of irrigation water resulted in higher soil moisture content within the same depth. Straw mulching gave better results on pod length, pod number, and total seed numbers when compared to no-mulching treatments. However, seed yield and quality including the concentration of N, P and K in seeds were not significantly different. The advantage of straw mulching was also able to hold more soil moisture content than no mulching
