Hydrocarbon grown yeast in broiler feed and its influence on the fat and protein content of blood plasma

Quantities of hydrocarbon grown yeast (obtained by n-paraffin fermentation), greater than 2.5%, used in the nutrition of chicks, had a stimulative effect on the synthesis and transfer of total fats, total proteins, total globulins, alpha 1-globulin, alpha 2-globulin and gamma-globulin. They had an inhibitive effect on the synthesis and concentration of albumin, while they had no effect on the synthesis and concentration of beta-globulin. Chicks fed on 5% and 7.5% of hydrocarbon grown yeast were under stress during fattening, which resulted in poorer growth and less efficient use of food.
